Jeremy LaLonde Blog
July 27 2007

I'm not dead. I've just been busy. You know the old saying "Life is what happens when you're making other plans." That's my life these days. In the good way.

So. I'm married now.... now what?

The wedding was gorgeous, the day was wonderful, food amazing, no fight broke out. A good day all in all. And we're getting read to do the old honeymoon ritual which will be a nice break. I love the city, but I also love to leave the city.

Life is what happens...

So I think it's OK for me to announce that I have a film in development with a significant production company in the city. I am not at liberty to drop names right now, but I thought I would announce that just to keep those following the blog in the loop. I'll do my best to let you know how that all goes. There's a term called 'development hell', and I'm just hoping we don't end up in it. Needless to say I'm heading into my vacation excited to come back to a meeting about it. Of course by the time my next blog rolls around I could be dropped like a bad habit, but for now it's a good place.

Waiting, writing, etc...

Waiting for some different grant applications to come back. It's been a super busy summer so it's kept my mind occupied and not stressing over whether I'll get the money to make some newer projects. I've two shorts that I've outlined that I'm really excited about working on in the new future. One is a Bravo idea that I'm jazzed about and have been trying to write for some time now, and I finally have a handle on it. I think writing on napkins on my way out east will be a good place to write it.

The power of the movie...

So recently a movie changed my life. I think that's awesome. Now granted the film didn't give me a giant epiphany, just more like it slapped me in the face and made me make a decision I've been on the fence about for a long time. The film is "Fast Food Nation", and the decision, as you might have guessed, is to not eat meat. My wife is a vegetarian, so I don't eat a lot of meat to begin with, but that film combined with a book I'm reading called "The Vegetarian Primer" have, for at least now, convinced me that there's got to be a better way to go. I'm not going to jump up on a soap box because that's not my style, but if you're on the fence about the choice yourself check out the book and the film, it'll spark some ideas.

I wanted to talk about my thoughts on the new Harry Potter book... but I'll save that until next month if I remember. It's still too early to discuss it without angering people me thinks.

OK. I wanted to write more but many things are in flux, and some things I just can't give specifics about due to confidentiality agreements, etc...

But life is good and getting better. Once I get back from my trip I'm going to revise my creative plan for the next year or so of my life, just to keep myself on track.

Until then, read good books, watch great films, and enjoy yourself.
