Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Jason grew up in the small town of Kingston, TN. He joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from Roane County High School and served for four years, getting out after Desert Storm in 1991.
He became a police officer after he was honorably discharged from the Navy. He worked undercover narcotics and was assigned to an FBI Drug Task Force. He was also a SWAT team member and instructor before he switched from the police department to the fire department.
Jason began acting in plays while still in high school. He has also acted in several national commercials and television shows. He had a promising career as a professional wrestler until he shattered his leg in 2000. With his background in martial arts, boxing and wrestling, he became a highly sought after stuntman and fight choreographer. He has choreographed fight scenes and worked as a stunt coordinator for several theatrical productions and films in the southeast. With over 22 years of combined military, Law Enforcement and Firefighting experience, he has also worked as a technical advisor on several film and video projects.
