James Hurst

James Hurst is an accomplished writer and story editor with credits that include DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION, INCREDIBLE STORY STUDIO and INSTANT STAR. James has appeared on the hit radio series WIRETAP for CBC and THIS AMERICAN LIFE for PRI. In addition, he received a Gemini nomination for Degrassi’s controversial ACCIDENTS WILL HAPPEN episode, and has won two Canadian Screenwriter Awards, in 2004 for Degrassi’s PRIDE episode and in 2005 for Degrassi’s MERCY STREET episode. In 2006 he was nominated for a Canadian Screenwriter Award for Degrassi’s WEDDINGS, PARTIES, ANYTHING episode. James lives with his wife Shelley Scarrow and their renaissance dog, Columbo.
