SYNOPSIS:
A girl who half-heartedly tries to be part of the "in crowd" of her school meets a rebel who teaches her a more devious way to play social politics.
The shrill cry of the bell snapped me out of my daze. The thunder of doors being thrown open filled my ears, and a moment later, I was lost in a sea of faces. My feet stumbled across the tiled floor, trying to make headway, but I’m pushed back, shoved. And I nearly slip to the floor, and they would have continued to walk all over me. But I fought to stand, but the war was far from over. And another day of high school began.
In war, you have to choose a side, but still nobody wins. The popular squad descends like vultures upon those they see as weak, losers, ripping them apart. The ignored try to be recognized, and they sometimes fail miserably. And if you choose a side, you still don’t win. Knives are ready to slice into your back, rumors wait to run wild, and if you cut the head off one monster, another will grow right back. And only a dark horse may change the tide of war or end it completely.
