Gustavo Spolidoro Bio

Gustavo Spolidro was born in Porto Alegre, may 2nd, 1972.

Undergrad Degree in Social Communications for PUC-RS since 1996.Participated in the 49th BERLINALE/99 with the short film VELINHAS (Candles).

Received 44 awards until now, which 14 was for the short film OUTROS (Others), including Best Brazilian Short of the 2000 Cinema Brasil Great Award (Official Award of the Brazilian Government)

His feature debut O HOMEM QUE ROUBOU O MUNDO (THE MAN WHO STOLE THE WORLD), written with Gibran Dipp and Ivana Verle, has won the Petrobras Award and is in pre-production by TGD Films.Since 2004 is a partner of CLUBE SILENCIO production company, and is currently producing the feature AINDA ORANGOTANGOS (STILL ORAGUTANS). His short film THE BEGINNING OF THE END was selected to Sundance Festival and Rotterdam, both in 2006. He is Curator of the CineEsquemaNovo – Film Festival of Porto Alegre and teaches at the Film Program of the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul – PUC/RS.
