Born in Brussels, Belgium, but raised and schooled in Lund, Sweden, Fredric moved to the US and New York City in 2007 where he attended the 1-year screenwriting program at New York Film Academy. His passion for movies was however born much earlier than that. I can’t tell you that it started as late as in high school but it was here it all skyrocketed. Fredric spent most of his money on VHS tapes and his work at the local video store ate into his school days more and more. One day his father got an unpleasant phone call. Fredric was failing high school. 9 months later, and without the job at the video store, Fredric still graduated but his grades was less than stellar. Bored of the academic world he sought refugee in an industrial logistics firm where he stayed for 16 months. Fredric now felt ready for college. His grades got him enrolled as an English lit major but 2 years down the line, he was placed on reserve to join the Film program. One dropout later and Fredric was in. 2 years more passed and Fredric was proficient in both film history and theory but he had gotten very little hands-on experience so far.
Upon graduation he decided to follow up on that notion and applied for the New York Film Academy. New York blew his mind and suddenly he realized what had been missing all those years of identity searching. After graduation he worked as a video editor for Troma Entertainment where he cut trailers, promos and DVD featurettes. Currently Fredric is involved in several editing projects, freelance advertising work and is floating around his first scripts. He is living in Hell’s Kitchen.
