The naïve Leonardo da Vinci, at the age of 24, was awakened to the wonder of physical love and the wickedness of human society when he was accused of crimes against nature in the spring of 1476.
2. Why did you decide to write this screenplay?
Leonardo da Vinci is a person that fascinates the general public. Most people don’t know anything about his life as a young man; most envision him as an aging genius. I decided to write this story to illuminate a portion of his youth that formed his character.
3. How long have you been writing screenplays?
This is my first screenplay.
4. What film have you seen the most in your lifetime?
The Good Earth
5. What artist in the industry would you love to work with?
Daniel Radcliffe
6. Who was your hero growing up?
The Emperor Hadrian
7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?
I’m a successful architect so I would like to be writing new screenplays as I continue to design beautiful buildings
8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?
Yes, I have a set routine. I create a very strong outline and then expand it to a longer treatment. I then break it into individual scenes and begin writing dialogue. I don’t write dialogue in chronological order but begin with the most complex scenes. I then move onto the scenes that explain how the characters ended up acting as they do in the dramatic scenes.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Anything that involves the creative arts.
10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?
My story idea seemed to be very compatible with the competition’s goals.
11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
Find a topic you personally find fascinating and create a screenplay that will fascinate audiences.
