Ford Austin was born and raised in Oklahoma and Texas and is directly related to Stephen F. Austin. His directorial debut, SOIREE, premiered at the 2003 Bare Bones Film Festival in Muskogee and was nominated for Best Short Drama. As an actor Ford has appeared on ANOTHER WORLD, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, STRONG MEDICINE, THE ANDY DICK SHOW, and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, among others. Film projects include: PEARL HARBOR, FALLEN, DARK BLUE, CREEPIES 2, DOG GONE, SHANK'S MARE, and CO-INCIDENCE. He also starred with Talia Shire, Harland Williams, and Ethan Phillips in Vicky Jenson's FAMILY TREE which premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and eventually made its way to 45 film festivals around the world. He is a member of the Writer’s Boot Camp of Santa Monica, California & Film Independent. Ford lives in Hollywood, Ca with his girlfriend, ACCESS HOLLYWOOD producer, Lauree Dash.

Ford's short film THE WRIGHT BROTHERS that he co-directed with Scott Ingalls was showcased at the January 2007 WILDsound Feedback Film Festival Event.
