![]() FIGHT FOR THE RIGHTby Daren Foster ***Stop the presses!! Seriously. Stop them. They're all liberal biased.*** While we’ve been otherwise engaged waiting for summer to arrive (summer is going to arrive here in the northeast, isn’t it? What’s with all this talk about global warming if things aren’t getting warmer? Oh right. It’s now “climate change” not “global warming” to keep the truth about the real radical eco-terrorist-anti-capitalist agenda from getting out.) With our attention averted, a humanitarian crisis is in progress. There is a purge underway of a helpless segment of our society and we have simply looked the other way, remaining silent and deaf to the pleas for help. Where is bleeding heart Sally Struthers to cry for them, forcing us to confront the bullying, the butchery, the human displacement on a mind-boggling, massive scale? You see, since the election of Barack Obama and the rising tide of Soviet-style socialism here in the west, conservatives are on the run. In Hollywood especially, right thinking people are being ferreted out, their views silenced for fear of being blacklisted. Just like in the 50s when Senator Joseph McCarthy hounded Communists and their boot-licking sympathizers into justified oblivion. Only this time, it’s conservatives caught in the crosshairs. Payback, some are calling it; vengeance best served 50+ years on. So much so, that those unwilling to suffer under the yoke of such suppression have been forced into silence or exile. Many of those had to start all over again, toiling away in dirty, thankless occupations like politics. Ronald Reagan. Arnold Schwarznegger. Sonny Bono who gave his life on the ski slopes, defending his right to be unswervingly conservative. For those who chose to stay and fight, it hasn’t been any easier. Ǘber-conservative and proud racist John Wayne suffered through the indignity of over 50 years of filmmaking with only one Oscar win to show for it. Clint Eastwood has been allowed to only act and/or direct one or two movies per year since he turned 70 and the liberal Academy has given him a measly two Oscars. Bruce Willis has never won an Oscar and has been forced to play Det. John McClane 4 times. Can you imagine?! Four times!! After appearing at the 2004 Republican convention, Kelsey Grammer has been relegated to starring in only two sitcoms since the demise of Frasier. Don’t even get me started on the hardships endured by Charlton Heston. While the more famous conservatives have managed to eke out a living, imagine the obstacles faced by the little ‘C’s; those unknown conservatives who have had to remain in the closet while plying their trade in Hollywood. Too frightened to proudly proclaim their political orientation, they cannot bear witness to what it’s like living a conservative life in a liberal world. So we can’t know for sure. We can only guess. And postulate. And assume the worst. Besides, conservatives never complain or whine when things don’t go their way. They endure stoically when face-to-face with the ugly mug of prejudice and ignorance, unlike other possibly oppressed minorities. There’s no crying in conservative circles. No bemoaning their lot. No adhering to wild, un-provable conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality. That’s not how conservatives roll. Even now, as the liberal tide continues to rise unabated, threatening the levees of common sense and rational debate, lone voices can be heard, calling from the conservative sidelines. Tiananmenesquely standing in front of the soulless tank of politically correct conformity, valiant protesters refuse to let their views be crushed under the wheels of Hollywood liberalism. In March of this year, unrepentant Republican lover, actress and cosmetic entrepreneur Angie Harmon claimed that when you criticize the current President, you’re labelled a racist. But only if you’re a Republican, I might add. Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugman has been one of Obama’s harshest critics and no one has suggested he’s racist. A crank, maybe, but certainly not a racist. After her comments, Harmon appeared on Christina Who? which big Hollywood liberal network and Disney owned ABC then proceeded to cancel with no explanation. Coincidence? Former Coach star Craig T. Nelson took to the airwaves on one of the few truly conservative shows at Fox News, The Glenn Beck Show, to deride Obama’s stimulus package. Craig T. claimed that when he was down and out and on welfare and food stamps nobody helped him. Rather than bailing out failed enterprises on Wall Street, we should be better funding education. Until we start doing that, Nelson almost vowed to stop paying taxes. That’ll teach those under-funders. Give them even less money to under fund education. Oscar winning actor, John Voight, having seen his career survive the wreckage of movies like The Champ and Anaconda, rolled the dice once more with an appearance at a House-Senate Republican fundraiser (and later on Fox News’s other non-liberal show, The O’Reilly Factor). Delivering a speech of understated unsubstantiated innuendo and free of cryptic, quasi-religious, End of Days tone and hue, Voight skewered President Obama with an almost incisiveness and barely any paranoid ramblings. Rest assured, nobody in liberal Hollywood will be asking Jon Voight to play FDR again anytime soon. Only time will tell how such outspokenness in the face of Hollywood liberal intolerance will go down. But revolutions always start with single voices baying alone in the wilderness. As the great American patriot Bruce Springsteen (who proudly proclaimed to be Born in the USA) once sang: you can’t start a fire, you can’t start a fire without a spark and this gun’s for hire… Perhaps the most discouraging blow for conservatives these days is their loss of Internet supremacy to the liberal swarm. Shut out from other media platforms like television (with the exception of Fox News, MSNBC with Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough, Brian Williams on NBC and the regular presence on political shows by the likes of Anne Coulter, Tucker Carlson, George Will, Charles Krauthammer, David Brooks, Newt Gingrich, retired V-P Dick Cheney) and radio (again with the exception of Clear Channel, the largest radio station owner in the U.S. that hosts the like of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Dr. Laura, Michael Savage, Mark Levin), the Internet allowed conservative thought to roam free, unimpeded by any need for debate with opposing viewpoints. Here, conservatives ruled, pulling off their greatest coup in 2004 by de-heroizing Democratic Presidential candidate, so-called “veteran” John Kerry, uncovering the sad and ugly truth about his actual exploits in Vietnam. But that was then and this is now. As Jon Voight said so confidently in his speech, Obama’s storm troopers usurped the Internet and brainwashed the young generation into thinking George W. Bush was a war-monger (How dare they! The man only started two wars during his time in office!). The rest, as they say, is history. America has begun its rapid descent toward weakness and effeminate socialism. Our only hope for salvation from such a regrettable fate lies with the rise of conservative luminaries like Andrew Breitbart. A self-acknowledged former C student who’s glad he didn’t do better at school as it saved him from the liberal indoctrination that inevitably comes with higher education, Breitbart is now waging war on leftist Hollywood. Having made a misstep in helping launch the hard left Huffington Post, he now is getting it right, giving voice to the conservative voiceless at Breitbart.com and Big Hollywood. Watching him interviewed here, it brought tears to my eyes and a clenching sensation in my lower intestines. Andrew Breitbart is all that and a bag of plain old salt and vinegar chips. First, we take back Hollywood. Then we take back Berlin. The future may not be so bleak after all.
