FILM DETAILS

DARLING, DARLING

directed by Matthew Lesner and starring Michael Cera (Arrested Development)

Amidst the rubble and decay of modern American suburbia, Harold (Michael Cera) must do his best to make a good first impression on the eccentric Mr. Darling against a series of somewhat unforeseen events.

THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM

directed by Marc Lougee

The protagonist, a victim of the Spanish Inquisition, is brought before a tribunal where he is condemned and sentenced to the dungeons. Awaiting his death, he struggles with hope and faith, while his captors employ fiendish machinations in their efforts to unhinge him.

WAY

directed by Elizabeth Pasieczny

An isolated and lost woman awakens from a state of regression. She seeks out the answers to her predicament within her memories. It is there that she will discover her identity and release. Ultimately, she will find the courage and the strength to break free from her self-imposed prison.

REBIRTH

directed by Ryan Ward

Inspired by a true story, 'Promises Broken, A Killing Therapy, A Life Erased' [Article, Rocky Mountain News]. A young couple, Reid and Simone Douglas, unable to conceive a child resort to adoption. As Simone struggles to connect with her detached adopted son, Reid through his military obligations travels to Iraq to work as a guard at the Um Qasr prison. In desperation Simone searches out and participates in 'Rebirthing' and ‘Attachment Therapy’ with the young boy. Reid develops a new outlook on the significance of his duties through the perspective of an Iraqi newspaper reporter detained for trying to reveal the ‘truth’ about American intentions. A surreal look at the supernatural powers of manipulation and misinformation in the midst of a consciousness and a country reborn.

CHRYSANTHEMUMS THE WORD

directed by Toby Roberts

Love, conflict, deception and sex...all in 15 seconds. Based on a poem read by pop-poet John Cooper Clarke.

GROCERY MISHAP

directed by Michael Davidson, Bruce Hunter

A story of jealousy and foodstuff. A seemingly normal day in the fourth aisle turns into a battle of wits and wieners between two gallant grocery gals.

GITMO FREEDOM

directed by Elizabeth Tesla, Wayne Frost

Gitmo : American slang for “get more” and military jargon for Guantanamo Bay. A “sights and sounds” frenetic zapping of the war in Iraq with “Shock and awe” in action, all cut to a hyperactive drum “n” bass score.

DINNER TABLE

directed by Song E Kim

The dinner table where we sit everyday to satisfy the basic of needs can become the most awkward and devastating place to be by one simple conversation and mounting emotion.

LIFE

directed by Daehwan Cho

A timelapse photographic animation with burning candles in music sync.

SPLIT CITY

directed by Mark Sanders

What if the toughest battles you fought never made the newspapers because they raged inside your head? Bram Harper gets the chance to become what he always dreamed of and no one else could be; a superhero, but he’ll always be that guy in his boxer briefs, talking to himself. The potential for his arch nemesis resides inside of him, waiting to take control and turn him into the villain!
