ERIN FAITH YOUNG

Erin Faith Young is an Academy Award and Emmy nominated producer for the short documentary, HARDWOOD. Co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada, TVOntario and the OMDC, it screened at numerous festivals worldwide while winning major awards and is now playing on stations such as PBS/POV and other European Networks.

In 2006, Erin’s company Faith Films produced the dramatic feature film THE END OF SILENCE, starring Canadian folk/rock star Sarah Harmer and executive produced by Academy Award nominated producer Fred Fuchs. It is distributed by Mongrel Media domestically, internationally by Catch International- UK, and among several festival top awards, it won BEST FEATURE FILM at the Canadian Filmmakers Festival in Toronto and is currently available on DVD across Canada.

From 2002-2004, Erin worked at The Nightingale Company, with Producer Debbie Nightingale. Projects include Producer on the teen travel series GET OUTTA TOWN! for TVO, SCN and US Broadcaster WAM!; Associate Producer for CHICKS WITH STICKS, an MOW for Movie Central, TMN, A-Channel and W Network; Associate Producer for the feature documentary LIPSTICK & DYNAMITE, PISS & VINEGAR; THE FIRST LADIES OF WRESTLING that screened in more than 30 theatres in Canada and the USA; and numerous other film and television productions.

Erin began her career working with world-renowned director Deepa Mehta for two years on her feature film BOLLYWOOD/ HOLLYWOOD, as the director’s assistant from conception to completion.

She is a graduate of Sheridan College’s Post-Graduate Diploma in Film and Television and also holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from Concordia University. As well as instructing private documentary filmmaking courses, she also teaches The Business of Film Development and Producing at Ryerson’s The Chang School, Continuing Education Program and won an Excellence in Teaching award in October 2006.

In June 2007, Erin joined forces with business partner Jennifer St. John to launch a new company CachÈ Film & Television. CachÈ produces documentary, dramatic and lifestyle projects. The goal is to produce high quality and thought-provoking programming that entertains audiences worldwide.

HOMECOMING, is the first dramatic BravoFACT! film that was produced by CachÈ, and written and directed by Connie Diletti. With an incredible cast of Nicholas Campbell (DaVinci’s Inquest) Mimi Kuzyk (The Day After Tomorrow) and Zachary Bennett (Road to Avonlea) it had its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival.

CachÈ also opened a service production side to the company that manages documentary and lifestyle productions. Currently in production is the successful documentary series X-Weighted. on SLICE produced by Anaid Productions in Edmonton. CachÈ manages the Toronto productions out of the tri-city Canadian series, along with her full production team and office in downtown Toronto.
