Erik Siegling grew up in Denver Colorado, and attends a small college in Illinois called Principia College. He is very young in his filmmaking career, his first script, “David” was written in December 2006.The film explores a young man’s struggle with self-loathing and suicide, and reveals an unlikely catalyst to his growth in appreciation for himself and life.
Erik also has a passion for cinematography, as well as directing, but thus far his only work has been for scripts. The one page script contest is his first film contest and has been a unique opportunity to work towards visible goals in film, instead of just dreaming about film making. His writing involves mainly contemporary pieces, that center on inspiring the audience, and using new and strange ways to bring across old ideas. As well as being a folk and electronica music writer, Erik also works on extreme sports (kayaking, mountain biking, snow sports) films and is currently working on a multi year project to be entered in the Banff Mountain Film Festival.
