The train raced through burning cities. Screams for help struck the glass. The end of the line was approaching fast, and the doors were sealed shut. And fear dug in deeper, and the man blamed himself for what lied outside the window. And he braced for impact, but then he realized that this was only a dream.
The bed was drenched in sweat. Fear held the one tossing and turning, and screams for help went unanswered. And monsters invaded a fragile mind, tearing the dreamer apart, and escape was denied. And the struggle to remain awake failed against sleep, and the night terrors waited to begin again.
And chaos rained down hard against a dark dreamscape. The walls closed in, and doors slammed shut, locking in place. And men became monsters, fixated on the one trapped within their nightmare, and a sinister smile reflected their murderous gaze. And they reached out to end this dream, but a white knight stormed in. And under his protection did the dreamer raise his sword and slay the beast.
The night terrors were over. No more monsters waited in the darkest corners of the mind. Fear had no place in sleep. Serenity enveloped the dreamscape, and the turbulence of dreaming slowed to a crawl. And the dreamer owed all this to the one man, who entered his dreams.
Resting beside the bed, Alex Gardner closed his eyes and concentrated on the dreamer’s breathing. The doors to his mind swung open, and he slipped outside, falling into another dreamscape. And he boarded a train, choosing a window seat, and waited for the dream to begin, but not all dreams would be this peaceful. And the nightmares of others would become his to end.
But Alex was not the only one able to slip into the minds of dreamers. His rival, Tommy Ray Glatman also participated in the government experiment that utilized their psychic abilities, and he was no white knight in shining armor. And with his abilities does he become a dangerous weapon held in the wrong hands, and his next target could change the world. And it is up to Alex to stop him, but is he strong enough to battle the darkness raging within Tommy or the chaos breaking the dreamscape apart?
We dream a thousand dreams, and our dreams are like wild horses running free. And we struggle to take the reins and to keep ourselves from falling over the edge, but what if we could dream what you dream? And what if we could control those dreams? Would we be your white knight in shining armor, or would we become your worst fear? And would we relinquish control, handing the reins back to you, or would we run those horses right over the edge and into oblivion? A true Science-Fiction classic, Dreamscape pulls you into a storyline wrapped with mystery and suspense and carries you down into the depth and darkness of humanity.
