David is a former professional photographer who gave up the mountain lifestyle in Whistler, BC, to follow his dream of being an actor. That dream came true in 1998 when he was accepted to Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto.
After graduation, the realities of becoming a working actor in Canada began to take hold. Landing a few national commercials and several music videos, David was eager take part in more substantial projects. Having met other like-minded filmmakers and actors, he began producing his own work. Knowing he couldn’t wait around for the phone to ring, producing became a great way to create work not only for himself but for his peers. David’s first project, The Arbuckle Academy, was a campy comedy that followed the adventures of washed-up tennis coach Drake Arbuckle, played by David. David then went on to produce his own sketch comedy pilot, which featured top Canadian talent such as Christian Poteza (The Tournament) and former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Rick Vaive. In the winter of 2006 David was hired to coordinate an HD feature being shot in Mexico and Whistler. After wrapping up in Mexico, David flew to Whistler to perform in the film and do all on-set photography. After Whistler, David returned to Toronto and began producing a Bravo!FACT project, Ten Seconds, written and directed by former Ryerson classmate Joseph Adam. Ten Seconds went on to become an official selection of the Miami Short Film Festival. David can also be found improvising and co-producing The Neutrino Video Project, a multimedia improvised movie that takes place at the Drake Hotel in Toronto. Combining four teams of actors and cameramen, Neutrino takes to the streets to film a completely improvised movie as you watch. David is excited to take part in the WildSound reading series, which is such an excellent resource for bringing scripts to life.
