Darling baby, beautiful child
My sanity
My responsibility
All wrapped up
In a little bundle of soft flesh
When I am tired
Or violent or careworn
When I would before have looked
To a destructive vent for my frustration
Now I let your tiny fist
Close on my finger
My sanity, my responsibility
And allow you to coax me back
To safety
