Tests and unemployment was the path for Dare Kent that led to screenwriting. During final exams, full of nervous energy, her head crammed with facts and figures ready to be spilled unto the test page she wrote her first screenplay by hand.
Yikes, you heard right, in this era of computers, she wrote her first script the old fashion way -- by hand.
That might have been the end of her screenwriting journey except she spent the next nine months unemployed. Bored and broke she pulled out that handwritten script one afternoon and gave birth to a rewrite. The first of many.
Since then she has written six full-length scripts, one stage play, several TV pilots, and a few short scripts. She has learned that crafting a good story involves neverending hard work, commitment and sacrifice.
