Commentator Recap: Xavier’s Mansion – It was a battle of battles. Powers VS No Powers. Marvel VS DC. But in the end it comes down to who really wants it more…
8:00 P.M. – Cyclops was warming up in the Danger Room. Having programmed the session for martial arts skilled opponents only, he was very prepared for the fight that was coming, working tirelessly to become capable of the imminent fight.
8:04 P.M. – Without warning, in the midst of fighting a martial arts drone during the session, a batarang flew out from a dark corner of the room. It hit perfectly square onto Cyclops’ mask, rendering it useless. Cyclops was now blind to the world.
8:10 P.M. – Cyclops continued to fight the drone with no problem. In fact, he took advantage of his disadvantage to train himself further. Easily defeating the drone in hand to hand combat, he made his way for the exit, knowing it to be better to have vision for his true fight.
8:12 P.M. – Upon arriving at the exit, Cyclops was caught in a pre-set trap. Not a Dangerroom task, but an actual netting that had been planted by Nightwing.
8:13 P.M. – Knowing the risk he assumed, Cyclops removed his visor, allowing an optic beam to radiate from his eyes, breaking off the trap and severing him to the ground. The beam was uncontrollable, however, and shattered a large portion of the ceiling. This resulted in Nightwing tumbling to the ground as well.
8:15 P.M. – Cyclops never knew Nightwing was injured only a mere few feet away from him. If he had, one Optic Blast would have surely sent this into a quick upset. Instead, Cyclops once again released an uncontrolled beam, blowing down the exit to the room.
He stumbled his way into the hallway and felt along the wall to a nearby room.
8:17 P.M. – Nightwing was able to pull himself together and recover, making his way after Cyclops.
8:23 P.M. – Nightwing searched several rooms and finally turned into one where Cyclops was waiting for him – new visor and all. An optic blast was quick to fire, shattering several ninja stars headed his way. Nightwing quickly saw his disadvantage and threw several stars at once, all the while grappling hooking into the ceiling for an aerial attack on Cyclops.
8:27 P.M. – Cyclops was thrown off by several objects all at once and instead of firing blasts at them, lept onto a nearby desk and then into the air himself, cutting Nightwing off halfway with a flying side kick to the chest. The kick connected, folding Nightwing in half mid-air and sending him flying back. As Cyclops descended from the air he fired off a beam that shot straight up and into Nightwing.
8:33 P.M. – Nightwing was in awkward position when the optic beam hit. Overpowering him in the air, it completely folded his body in half, breaking his spine. His body was shot into the ceiling and stuck indented into it.
WINNER: CYCLOPS
After the match EMT’s rushed to get Nightwing down and help him. But he was ruled dead on scene. He had been killed instantly by the optic blow. Cyclops could not be reached for comment afterwards but seemed emotionally upset by what may have been an accidental victory.
Superhero Battle Rules:
One hour time limit.
Rendering opponent immobile for longer than 3 minutes constitutes a win.
Players may forfeit at any time by discarding their weapons or removing their masks.
