Conall Pendergast is the son of globe-trotting archaeologists from opposite coasts of the United States. Semi-rootless Amero-nadian Conall grew up in locations as contradistinctive as the jungles of northern New Jersey and the strip malls of suburban Belize.
His avowedly zany antics include a harrowing spell at Toronto's York University where he made several shorts including Guts of the Gods, Beautifully Rendered, and Flicker which played at festivals in Canada, the United States, and the UK. He has directed two features for the US horror DVD market, Kill Them and Eat Them (which The Baltimore Sun described as "an experience not to be missed") and Flesh Freaks, which for some reason was retitled Zombie of the Dead in Japan.
Both have seen multiple DVD releases, many with the requisite covers that have nothing to do with the movies themselves. Pendergast has written and illustrated several comic zine anthologies including Scream of the Love Police, She was a Rocket Girl!, and Prisoner of the Clockwork Cannibals, the latter of which was republished by ? Comics in the US.
He writes and performs with the comedy troupe Stag Nation, whose plays include The Boat Show and Swinging for the Fences ("Sheer hilarity" – Eye Magazine). He currently illustrates comic books and produces animated shorts about water safety for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
