This script is about the wacky teachers who teach at Middlefield high. The series will focus on the main issues that confront teachers everyday.... focusing on only the teachers ... telling their stories through comedy. There are no repeating roles for any of the students. (I based the style of comedy on Night Court and WKRP in Cincinatti)
Synopsis:
MITCH leaves the military to better serve his country by becoming a gym teacher at Middlefield Junior High School.
He immediately runs afoul of JANE, the school secretary, who is also the principal GARY’S sister-in-law.
During his get acquainted meeting with Gary, all the most difficult staff, MARY, ADAM, LAURA and CLAIRE burst in with problems that need immediate solutions to.
Mitch being a “hands on type of guy,” tries to help. Mary of course can not resist Mitch and is enamored of him immediately.Mary’s problem revolves around a student named JOHNNY who is a trouble maker in class. All the teachers have their solutions as to what should be done, but none is nutty than Laura’s new age solutions.
Mitch’s solution is to just run him ragged in gym class then he will be too tired to do anything elsewhere.
After Adam’s failed human diode experiment in science class, Laura shows Mary her acupressure techniques which loosen a man’s inhibitions.Mary can’t wait to test them on Mitch after watching Adam loose his around Laura, who up until now have been bitterly opposed to each other.
Mitch teaches Aki-do pressure points in his gym class to see how the boys stand up to “pressure.”
Mitch though through years of military training has become immune to pressure point techniques much to the disappointment of Mary.In spite of all the teachers interventions, Johnny somehow manages to behave better in class.
