11 Questions with 2010 Screenplay Finalist

Chris Keaton

1. What is your screenplay about?

A boy facing a terrifying situation.

2. Why did should people vote for your 1page script?

Because it's awesome! Oh, you want a serious answer. Seriously, it's awesome! It's a really doable film in the right hands and will take the viewer through a rollercoaster of feelings in just a short amount of time.

3. How long have you been writing screenplays?

Successfully? I started writing in earnest nearly three years ago.

4. What film have you seen the most in your life?

Gothic, by Ken Russell.

5. What artist in the industry would you love to work with?

I would like to see what M. Night Shyamalan can do with someone else's writing.

6. How many screenplays have you written?

Too many to count, seriously I lost count, probably 10 features and 30 shorts. Some good some not so good.

7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?

Writing for a living.

8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?

I always run the story through my head before I write anything. This is easier with shorts than with features.

9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

There's more to life then writing? I don't seem to have the time for anything else but my family, job, and writing.

10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?

I never enter contests usually, but I thought what the heck $10 bucks is cheap.

11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Write! Write! Write! And then Re-Write.
