SYNOPSIS:

Three horror-thriller tales revolve around a mysterious stray cat which is attempting to find a little girl in trouble. In "Quitters, Inc.": the cat is picked up by a shady New York "doctor" who uses experimental techniques to get people to quit smoking. His latest client is a man named Morrison, who learns he'll suffer some terrible consequences if he tries to cheat. In "The Ledge": the cat is picked up by Cressner, a shady Atlantic City millionaire who forces tennis pro Norris (his wife's lover), to walk a narrow ledge around his high-rise penthouse apartment. In "The General": the cat arrives in Wilmington, North Carolina, where it is found by Amanda, the young girl it has been sent to protect. What she needs protection from is a tiny, evil troll who lives behind the skirting board in her bedroom.

REVIEW:

A tail of suspense and mystery twists and turns. Darkness reveals gleaming eyes. Claws of lies and murder are razor sharp. Separate lives weave in and out, leading the way to the one that begs to be found, but is too late to save a life?

Decisions wander close to the ledge. Repercussions threaten to spiral downward and crash hard against bottom. Choices narrow, and every step forward may become the last. And action wavers between life and death, and revenge follows close behind, pecking at open wounds. And one man takes the plunge over the edge.

Addiction drives another into open arms, hoping to be cured, but bad habits die hard. And all eyes are watching him, and if caught, repercussions would be severe. And the firm hand of intimation, strangers in the closet chases that last drag, and sparks fly over slips and falls. And as one man’s bad habits finally give way are harsh lessons learned, raising a finger to stay in line.

Caged innocence begs to be freed. Danger is coming. Walls tear away, revealing the monster inside. Cries for help hit home, but the journey there is long. And evil creeps closer, thirsting for the breath of life.

He arrived as fast as he could, and he found her safe and sound. But his welcome went cold by those around her, and suspicion followed the trail of blood. And betrayal stole him away from her, but he would not let her die.

Round and round, he tangoed with the one set on taking her life. He nearly got there too late, and his claws were at the ready. And as they battled, she screamed, and the monster tried to escape. But it was too late, and he sent that troll flying into his death. And she wrapped her arms tightly around him, and the door flew open. And the ones that did not believe her were left speechless at the pieces of evil left scattered across the floor.

Tales of suspense and mystery twist and turn, weaving an intricate storyline together, and the hunt begins to save a life. Chills and thrills race over delicate characters confronted with impossible scenarios, touching our hearts with light and darkness. Stakes rise higher as the final journey begins, and evil rears its ugly head. And suspense tightens its hold as the story reaches its pivotal point, and life lingers close to death. And Cat’s Eye is another classic masterpiece delivered by the brilliant author, Stephen King.
