Bobby Del Rio

Bobby Del Rio’s plays have been published/produced by Canadian Theatre Review, CBC Radio and RicePaper Magazine. His play CHRISTIAN VALUES was the #3 selling hit of the 2001 Toronto Fringe Festival, landing him on the cover of NOW in July 2001. His SummerWorks 2000 play WHEN CHILDREN FALL was named “one of the year’s best Fringe/SummerWorks shows” by Eye Weekly. His other plays include: LOS ANGELES (developed in the 2001/2002 Factory Theatre playwright’s lab), NAME IT YOURSELF! (SummerWorks ‘99) and his HALF-CHINX plays. Bobby was the subject of a half-hour documentary that aired nationally on the television series CENTER STAGE CHRONICLES (Bravo!). The Second Generation Theatre Company staged three of his plays in New York City. He is the inaugural recipient of the Robertson Davies Playwriting Award for WHEN CHILDREN FALL (University of Toronto Drama Festival 2000). Most recently, his play CHILD HOOD premiered at the 2005 SummerWorks Festival. Recently completed scripts include: PROFESSIONALLY ETHNIC, PLAGIARISM, THE K-HOLE, SCHMOOZERS and a 6-part television series called A PORN LIFE.

Bobby had his short film script MARX' SHOPPING CARTS showcased at the September 2006 WILDsound Screenplay Reading Series Event.
