In the age of heroes comes the mightiest warrior of them all is Beowulf (Ray Winstone). After destroying the overpowering demon Grendel (Crispin Glover) as asked to by King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins), he incurs the undying wrath of the beast's ruthlessly seductive mother (Angelina Jolie), who will use any means possible to ensure revenge. The ensuing epic battle resonates throughout the ages, immortalizing the name of Beowulf. Robert's Review As always, I review movies based on their entertainment value, not their technical merits or flashy CGI effects. Sure, this movie was visually stunning and some of the CGI could almost be mistaken for the real thing… however, the movie itself was boring and wasted two hours of time. "Beowulf" is basically a soap opera… two solid hours of characters in a mead hall, sitting around talking… and talking and talking and so on. There was hardly any action, suspense, humor or anything truly entertaining. I felt like I was watching day time soaps and I couldn't have been more displeased about that. I looked around at all of the other audience members only to see similar looks of boredom. Hardly anyone smiled, cheered, applauded or did anything. Like me, they all just sat there in silence and when it was over, they just got up and walked out. All in all, I'd give this movie 2 Naked Angelina Jolies (out of 5). Re-watch value: NONE Brett's Review None. He's on vacation visiting his family for Thanksgiving. ©2006-2007 The Popcorn Review, LLC aka "TPR, LLC". All Rights Reserved.
