Ben Stewart was born March 9th, 1985 in Marshalltown, Iowa. At a young age, an old, worn-out VHS tape of The Thing ignited a life-long passion for film. He attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (which he doesn’t recommend to anyone else) and graduated with a major in film production. He has a love of all aspects of film making, and since graduation has found work in post-production and visual effects.
A scholar of film, his passion has expanded into the works of Fritz Lang, Sam Fuller, Mario Bava, Alex Cox, Akira Kurosawa, Shinya Tsukamoto, Alfred Hitchcock and Takeshi Miike. He is currently in post-production on his junior and senior level films. He resides in Inglewood with his girlfriend, Carolyn, and his bird, Miike. He spends his free time writing and wishing John Carpenter would end his career on a movie other than Ghosts of Mars.
