My name is Aria Chiodo, I am 23 years old, I live in Queens, NY and work in Manhattan. I do not work full time in film, but I work on feature productions when I can, usually in the Art Department, and am currently searching for a more permanent internship with a production company.
I grew up watching films (no television, only film): my parents exposed me at an early age to not only contemporary films, but also old Hollywood films by Capra and Minnelli, and foreign films by Truffaut and Satyajit Ray. I've been entranced by cinema for as long as I can remember, and I never tire of it.
I graduated in 2007 from SUNY Purchase, with a degree in Cinema Studies. I studied all types of film- classic, contemporary, American, and foreign, as well as film theory and film criticism. I also took classes on editing and documentary filmmaking, for which I made several short films.
I am very excited to write film reviews on this site, since I haven't been able to express my knowledge and love of film very often since graduating college. There are still many films I need to see, but for now, I'll try to share what I am already familiar with.
