Allison Hartley was born in North Scituate, RI, where she grew up watching AMC and reading Roger Ebert’s Movie Companion. She graduated from Hampshire College in 2004. She received a BA in Film and Writing. Alli soon moved to Los Angeles, where she learned to name-drop with the best of them. She continues to pursue her dream of watching more films than anyone would think possible. Besides racking up time on the couch, she is a member of noted production company Misplaced Planet. There she produces and writes short films that skew on the darker side of funny. She currently works at Partizan, responsible for such films as ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ and ‘The Science of Sleep.’
In her spare time, Alli enjoys playing with her small dog, Bacon, drinking obscene amounts of coffee, and cheating at crossword puzzles. Her favorite films include ‘Rear Window’, ‘Ed Wood’, and ‘Ghostbusters’.
