Alfred Hitchcock was born in England in 1899, Hitchcock’s first job in the film business was as a studio’s title designer; he was unexpectedly handed directorial duties when a director fell ill. The rest is history. Demonstrating keen skill with eerie, mysterious subject matter, Alfred worked prolifically on many critical and box office successes, becoming known as the “Master of Suspense”. His cache was undeniable once his films, (such as Psycho and The Birds) bore “Alfred Hitchcock’s…” in the title. Nominated five times for Best Director, Hitchcock never won. Alfred Hitchcock died in 1980.
