Alex Appell was born in Montreal and came to Toronto at an early age. She attended Claude Watson School of the Arts in the Drama Stream. Alex co-founded Toothin Theatre which mounted five plays in Toronto. Toothin Theatre soon ventured into film production. Alex has produced three short films, all award winning and seen at festivals around the world. One of these films, Elevator, an independently made one minute public service announcement on Mental Health Awareness, went to the London International Advertising Awards where it beat out multi-national advertising agencies, taking home gold. As a producer, she has just finished post-production on the feature The Death of Alice Blue. Good Stuff is Alex’s directorial debut.
Alex has performed in many films and television shows including being a series lead in season three of 1-800-Missing.
