ALEJANDRO ALVAREZ PODCAST Interview - Alejandro talks about his experiences having his short film 'LE TRAC' playing at the WILDsound Film Festival
Alejandro Alvarez began dancing at the age of seventeen, training at the National Ballet School of Canada. For the last 20 years Alejandro has been a Soloist, Principal Dancer and Guest Artist with some of the most critically acclaimed companies in the world including Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Mannheim Ballett under the directorship of Kevin O’Day, William Forsythe’s Ballett Frankfurt and Nacho Duato’s Compañía Nacional de Danza.
In the fall of 2005 Alejandro began to study script writing with Academy Award Nominee Pedro Loeb. His first film is the short feature “Le Trac”. He is currently in post-production for the short film “Deep Sleep” starring Anton Lesser and the TV pilot “Off Kilter”, both of which were written and directed by him. In July 2007 Alejandro formally retired from dance to study at The Oxford School of Drama. He is now an actor and filmmaker based in Madrid, Spain.
