1. What is your teleplay about?
The script is a spec episode of NBC's The Office. After suffering a detached retina, Phyllis brings a "seeing eye dog" to the office that awakens Michael's fear of animals. A confrontation with the dog leads to disaster and Michael is forced to admit that violence isn't funny.
Meanwhile, Jim and Pam open a can of worms when they begin discussing potential names for their child.
2. Why did you decide to write this teleplay?
I'm am a long-time fan of The Office and am interested in pursuingwork writing for film and television.
3. How long have you been writing screenplays?
This is my first television script, but I have previously written anddirected the award-winning short film Hirsute.
4. What is your favorite TV show of all-time?
Seinfeld
5. What artist in the industry would you love to work with?
Ricky Gervais.
6. Who was your hero growing up?
Dr. Frankenstein.
7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?
Writing and directing for film and television.
8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?
Ideally, I write in two 3-hour blocks each day, working onalternating projects each block.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Filmmaking. 10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?
Feedback and exposure for the script.
11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers? In order to stay disciplined I have to literally schedule writing inadvance in my calendar wherever I can find the time between otherjobs. If it's booked in my calendar I have no excuse not to write!Writing more than one project at once is key for avoidingdisappointment when one project stalls.
