Born in Lajas, Puerto Rico, Adam Schlachter is as diverse as the places he has lived in (Chapel Hill, Miami, Tallahassee, Los Angeles) and visited (twenty European countries). He earned a B.F.A. in Film Production from Florida State University and a Professional Certificate in Screenwriting from UCLA. He has written and directed a dozen shorts, written seven feature screenplays, attended four esteemed writing and producing labs, and is a member of the Writers Guild of America West.
He won the coveted McNamara Family Arts Project Grant from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the Hollywood Charities Foundation Grant from the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers, & Directors Foundation, and the Diversity Scholarship from the Multicultural Motion Picture Association. A finalist in Esquire Magazine's Celluloid Style Film Competition for his film adaptation, "Father Figure", he is attached to direct "1986" and produce "Stray Bullet", two of his feature scripts. He graduated from the American Film Institude with an M.F.A. in Directing and just completed his completed his feature directorial debut, "The Oakley Seven"
